گروه موسیقی کلدپلی پیش از این در کنسرتی در آرژانتین با همراهی گلشیفته فراهانی، ترانه «برای» را اجرا کرده بودند.
شروین حاجی‌پور که به‌دلیل ساخت و خواندن آهنگ «برای» به حبس و مجازات‌های تکمیلی محکوم شده بود، روز ۹ مرداد گفته بود که حکم سه سال و هشت ماه حبسی که در دادگاه علیه او صادر شده بود، در دادگاه تجدیدنظر تأیید شده است.
ترانه «برای» در روزهای نخست پس از آغاز اعتراض سراسری ۱۴۰۱ از سوی شروین حاجی‌پور اجرا و منتشر شد و کمی بعد او بازداشت و روانه زندان شد، اما اواخر همان سال به‌طور موقت از زندان آزاد شد.
