Context

Reporting to the Service Head, you will lead, inspire and be managerially and editorially responsible for the production teams in London and Afghanistan, including stringers and reporters based globally, ensuring the highest possible editorial and production standards and first-class, creative and original programmes in both Pashto and Dari

Requirements

You’ll need: excellent team management and leadership skills and the ability to foster a creative environment. You will need sound editorial judgement, knowledge of BBC editorial policy and the wider BBC news agenda and international current affairs, in-depth knowledge of Afghanistan, its media market and the needs of our listeners; full command of Dari and Pashto as well as English; substantial journalistic and programme making experience; experience of managing budgets and resources
